New blog

I just moved over from WordPress. The reason I moved over is simply because Blogspot, or Blogger, allows me to use Google Adsense to put ads on my page. I'm poor and I need money, so why not? If I move back to WordPress, I'll post here.

Off to work.

A New Beginning

And so I begin a blog. A weblog. To log the happenings in my life, school, and career. Not a diary. Let’s make that clear. Let us begin with a little history.

In June of 2007, I decided I wanted to make music production and recording my career. I decided to attend the Institute of Production and Recording in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Since then, I’ve been preparing for the move up there. I finished high school classes at Lincoln Southwest High in January 2008. I’ve been working non-stop since. My graduation will be May 31st of 2008. I will be moving to Minneapolis the first week in July of 2008. (That’s 2.5 months from now.)

And now for random tidbits:

I used to be in a band called Wayward. We released an EP and toured to promote it. It was a big deal. Now it’s over. You can hear what my old friends and I created at www.myspace.com/enjoywayward

I love Apple products. I fell in love when I saw a guy’s iBook way back in 2005. I had never seen an apple notebook before. Two months later I had my own iBook G4. Which is still the machine I’m running on. I’m saving and hoping to get a 24″ iMac desktop before I move to Minneapolis. It will serve my personal computing, school computing, recording, and television purposes. I also own an iPod touch. I’d love to own an iPhone once I move to mpls, but I’m doubting I can shell out the $60 a month for that.

I’ve worked at Barnes & Noble Booksellers as a Cafe Server/Barista for nearly 2 years. Before that I worked at the Country Club of Lincoln for about 15 months. I’m hoping to land a job in mpls at American Apparel, Apple Retail, or something else that interests me if those are too far from my apartment.

I’ll be rooming with my long-lost buddy Austin after the move.

That’s all for now.
